Case Study of eSewa

eSewa – Nepal’s first online payment gateway is a comprehensive online payment solution. With eSewa digital wallet, customers can pay, send and receive money simply using their mobile phone and the Internet instantly. They have been operating since 2009 and have been licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank as a Payment Service Provider. Their vision is to cover every payment sector (Small/Big, Dealer/Retail, Private/Government, Domestic/International), and continuously accomplish a mission to create a cashless economy. They are continuously working for digital financial accessibility for all Nepalese.

eSewa has its own story to tell. Therefore, a case study of eSewa is carried out to understand the eSewa Cash Points as a tool to enable financial services for small businesses.
